Maternity services

The hospital provides maternity services round the clock. Six obstetricians are available on the premises to give immediate care when the patient arrives. The out patient services are provided from 9 am in the morning to 9 pm in the night without a break. Prior appointments are preferred, but walk in patients are also taken care by anyone of the consultants. Obstetric emergencies are taken care throughout the day without any prior appointments.

Three consultants are available in the mornings and evenings so that there is no delay in attending the patients.

Gynae-Oncology Clinic

The clinic provides state of art facilities for early diagnosis & management of genital tract malignancies like carcinoma cervix, uterus, ovaries, etc.Special emphasis is laid on screening for genital tract cancers with screening tests available like PAP smear , HPV testing and colposcopy.Patients are being managed in conjunction with onco-surgeons and onco-physicians under the same roof. Their long term follow up, psychological, social rehabitation services are also being provided.

The clinic activity collaborates with other specialists namely the peadiatricians, child psychologist & child endocrinologist.

Each patient is given personalised care and attention. Specific tailor- made advice regarding life style changes, diet, exercise & yoga are given.

Matured women clinic collaborates with other specialists, namely the Orthopaedicians, the oncologists, the physicians and the urologists, Surgeons and neurophysicians.

High Risk Pregnancy

The "high risk pregnancy clinic" is run by the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The clinic provides free consultation.

It aims at providing "surveillance and management" of pregnancies at risk due to either:

• Past obstetric outcomes like repeated abortions, previous still birth or neonatal deaths.
• Medical illnesses complicating pregnancy - high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, liver disorders, thyroid disorders, kidney diseases, anaemia.
• Events occurring during the present pregnancy like growth restriction, prematurity, bleeding or leaking etc.

High risk patients often require detailed assessment which involves:

• Genetic counselling
• Prenatal screening and diagnosis with facilities which include biochemical marker screening, chorion villus sampling, amniocentesis, fetal blood sampling and advanced ultrasound for the detection of fetal anomalies. More than 5000 invasive procedures have been carried out in the last 5 years.
• Extensive antepartum and intrapartum fetal surveillance
• Specialised neonatal care

The department is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for providing the above mentioned care for these pregnancies in liaison with the division of Fetal Medicine, Genetics and Neonatology.

Infertility care.

The hospital provides basic infertility care.we believe more in counselling and analysing the personal and clinical problems and encouraging people to conceive in the natural way.no unnecessary repeated investigations and medications. Lab facilities , scan and consultation in the same premises . sonosalpingography to know the tubal patency done under anesthesia to avoid a painful procedure.diagnostic laparoscopy and hysteroscopy facilities available at a nominal cost.educational CDs are given..

Well baby pediatric clinic.

The babies born at Velachery KS hospital are taken care by paediatricians in the morning and evening. All vaccines are available .

ULTRASOUND SCAN.

Ultrasound scan for pregnant patients are done by radilologists, well trained sonologists and fetal medicine consultants everyday with prior appointment.

PRENATAL TESTS

Blood tests to know the well being of the baby inside the uterus are done in collaboration with renowned labs.

Screening blood tests for downs syndrome, NIPT – NonInvasivePrenatal Tests are done.

Inavasive tests like amniocentesis to find out the chromosomal abnormalities of the baby inside are done .
